Brain teasers

So the rules are -

1. Answer for one point (in the comments section at the end of this post) what comes next in the pattern.
2. You get an extra point if you can say what the pattern is.

Are you ready?

a) 1, 2, 4, 9, 7, 7, __ ?
b) 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 13, __ ?
c) 2, 4, 9, 16, 16, __ ?
d) 1, 5, 9, 15, __?
e) 5, 1, 2, 1, __ ?
f) a, a, b, c, e, h, __ ?
g)

h) 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, __ ?
i) 44344, 33233, 22122, 11011, __ ?
j) e, g, b, d, _ ?

There's 20 points up for grabs in total - if you end up getting 15 or more, I'll muster up some kind of a prize..

  3. Can we have at least one extra iteration for each sequence please. E, G and J are only four long!

    D: 1,5,9,15 > 59?
    H: 3,1,4,1,5 > 1,6?
    I: 44344,33233,22122,11011 > 00-100 or 00000?

    I: -100 (subtract 11111)

  5. for a) and b), you need to think about square numbers.

for the others, there's a little bit of rotation involved, some alphabet, some numbers.... vague eh :p

  6. f: fibonnacci numbers as letters (a=1, b=2 etc... so 1,1,2,3,5,8)
g: looks like simple rotation, so i think the next one is the same as the first (Rotate 90 Clock, Rotate 180, Rotate 90 anticlock, roatate 180)

  7. just realised i didnt actually give the answer for F: m

    and i retract G, i now reckon:
rotate 90, rotate 180, rotate 270, thus the next one is 360... so another upside down smiley face

  8. d: 21 (vowel position in the alphabet... a=1, e=5, i=9, o=15, u=21)
